We aim for our new site to be as user-friendly as possible whilst following the standards and guidelines set out by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) in their Web Accessibility Initiative. This means that, wherever possible? all users can enjoy the same quality of experience.

Standards compliance

All other pages meet priority 1 guidelines of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.
Most pages also meet priority 2 guidelines of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.
All pages validate against the transitional XHTML 1.0 standard.
Visual design

The site uses cascading stylesheets for visual layout? ensuring greater usability for assistive technology.
The site will uses only relative font sizes? compatible with the user-specified ?text size? option in visual browsers.
If your browser does not support stylesheets, the content of each page will degrade gracefully ensuring that it is still readable.

Links

Where links do not contain a full description of the destination page, additional information can be found in the title attribute. If you are using a mouse or other pointing device? these can be viewed by hovering over the link; this information can also be accessed via a screen-reader or other browsing aid.

Pop-up windows

The use of pop-up windows on this site has been kept to a minimum. If a link opens a new browser window, the reason for this is explained in the title attribute of the link.
